Does it really matter if we skip number versions? I mean it’s just a number and going to 2.5 now (since it’ll be a long term release) really makes sense.

My vote is for 2.5 because the confusion, if any (nearly impossible after seeing this video), will only be short-term but will begin the process of communicating the new time-based development cycle, understanding which is more important, right away.
