thanks! I am starting wit Joomla and this is really helpful to me
Thank you so much for your time. Yes, I was able to remove it through the template. It is a custom design and I just turned it off. The person who built the site never responded to my requests to fix the link so I had no other choice. It would freeze up on you if you tried to click it and I know how people hate to sit at their pc with a frozen screen not knowing why.
Thanks again!
- It depends on the template you are using. Some template make this copyright or their copyright difficult to remove. There may be an include file inside the index.php file of your template, or it could be if you tell a module to be in the footer it removes the default. Some templates even have a button in their parameters to display NO FOOTER. If you want to shoot me your site I’ll take a look.
I did exactly what you told me to do in this video, but the foot I see on my site is not the same as what I found in this spot you have on this video. Is there another place for a footer? Perhaps directly on the template? Someone designed the site for me and the link at the bottom isn’t working. I’m just trying to delete it, but it’s not in this spot you’ve talked about in this video. Any other places it might be?
I found the footer, but I couldn’t find the information desplayed on my site. Is there another place to put a foot file? I had someone design the site and the link on the foot is broken and I want to fix that. But when I looked at this foot it didn’t have the link there. So, is there another place? Maybe on the template itself? Thanks
- gotcha – well it sounds like you got far enough to run joomla? All cpanel does is give you an interface namely to your root directory (where joomla is stored) and your phpMyadmin – for the database. If you are seeing the Joomla backend then that implies you have everything that cpanel would help you with set up. So cpanel isn’t required or needed, just makes it easier. Hope that answers you : o
Hello < Thanks for the reply. I have installed XAMPP and am able to see control panel of Joomla. But i followed your tutorial till it reaches cPanel. I got struck as I don’t have cPanel. Plz suggest
- You’ll need something called WAMP (if you have windows). This gives the environment you need to run Joomla. The steps to go through are beyond the scope of a YouTube comment, but there is ample documentation to walk you through things.
I am trying Joomla in my PC ( Localhost) . Can you please tel me how to do this without cPanel .
- GoDaddy has a nightmare proprietary interface that changes all the time is slow and keeps timing out. Cpanel is for linux/apahce based hosting systems. Id use hostgator – planettucker(dot)(com)/af/hostgator.php
, sorry, not sure if I fully understand you
