Yes, I do prefer WordPress over Joomla and that came about later the same year I made this video. Google me plus “WordPress” and you’ll see I’ve spoken at several Wordcamps and attended just as many. I also do training on it (next live training in September!). Oh, well hello there past husband from another life ^_^

Sweet vid…. curious tho – do you now prefer WP over Joomla? I started using PHP/MySQL-based websites and landed on WP because of the passionate WP community behind the scenes. Joomla… not so much. My clients wouldn’t know the difference, but when I have to build it and then show THEM how to use the site – I know they would be lost in Joomla. WP is just easier.
By the way, you’re awesome and in a past life I think we were married. … just sayin’. – @redtechmedia

Respond to this video… I made this video in 2008 to show a client how powerful Joomla was because they were still editing web pages by hand and it took them days to make updates. I know now we all roll our eyes and say, “Oh! Of course you should use Joomla” but four years ago, it was a hard sell ^_^

There is a video I posted on how to install Joomla from scratch here on YouTube. The one that shows how to use it is on my training website and costs $29.

Is there a video that shows how to add pages, buttons, menus, embed videos, etc. using Joomla? I think that would prove to be more useful than just showing what Joomla is capable of. I’m currently experimenting with Joomla and I’m a bit overwhelmed by the links upon links that Joomla requests when you look to add a page or poll. An explanation of what is what would be great!

OMG! That is hilarious! I’m Jewish and Black so I’m going to address this comment. I actually said, “JoomArt” but “Jew Mart” could have some mobility in the Joomla world.

did you say “Jew Mart” ? I buy all my best stuff there. You have to haggle but the deals are great. And you learn a bit of Yiddish at the same time.
    Enough? yeah ok.

for Joomla you need to already have purchased your own domain name and have it hosted already, once you do that your then going to upload joomla to your hosting server. Joomla is a great source for beginners and professionals alike so yeah youll be able to make a nice looking site

I’m wanting to create a support group website and also add a really good recipe section. What do you or anyone else suggest to use? Joomla, WordPress, Dreamweaver? I can create websites, but I don’t know coding. I have always gotten by though. Thanks in advance

Joomla is awesome. But i’d recommend a local install on XAMP or WAMP plus a good book to learn it’s slightly convoluted methods of doing cms before going live. It’s much easier that ftp bashing on a live site. Thumbs up for Joomla 1.5
